1. Within the first 24 hours, I would meet with the marketing team and the project lead to understand the community’s goals, the target audience, and the marketing campaigns planned for the coming weeks.
I would want to know where users are coming from, why they would join, and what they expect from SNDCT. After that, I would set up the community structure, create the necessary channels, establish basic rules, and design a smooth onboarding process so that the first members have a positive experience from the moment they join.
2. I would spend the first 48 hours listening and observing.
I would review recent conversations, identify recurring issues, understand members’ concerns, and speak with moderators or long time active members. I would also look into previous decisions that may have caused dissatisfaction within the community.
I would avoid making any immediate announcements because I would first want to fully understand the situation. This would allow me to communicate more effectively later and propose solutions that genuinely address the community’s concerns rather than making the situation worse.
3. I am more suited to building a community from scratch.
I enjoy creating a strong foundation, shaping the community culture, and watching the community grow from its earliest stages. I also feel more comfortable when I can understand the system from the beginning rather than stepping into an environment with an established history and complex dynamics.
The most challenging part for me would be maintaining consistent growth during the early stages, when there are only a few members and engagement is still limited. However, I find this challenge exciting because it requires creativity, patience, and long term strategic thinking to build a healthy and sustainable community.
