I thought you will mention the rule of sharing viral hot chicks and showing biceps to impress everyone in the first glance as a CM. Lmao.
Jokes apart, I must say the articles like this actually covers what a newly appointed CM needs to do and what they don’t need to do. I really loved the way you are sharing learning and real experience with us.
1 - I will first do a meeting with the team to understand what type of campaigns the community showed interest in the past. Then I will identify a few active members, talk with them directly, and take their honest feedback and suggestions. I believe starting from people who are already active gives the clearest direction in first 24 hours.
2 - I will spend time learning, understanding, and researching the community properly — what went wrong in the past, old chats, common questions, and pain points before posting anything publicly. I think this helps me avoid blind mistakes in the first 48 hours.
3 - I think I will struggle most with answering people’s questions at the start because they will expect responses from the old CM, and I will be new in their eyes. I will need time to build that trust and rhythm.
