I always love making reference to the scenarios or occurrences that sup with me in the space... and its kinda absurd that they always fall in sync with the things discuss... so i was an ambassador with NodeOps of which I think yk boss Illia since its on my Intern pass... NodeOps is a vibecoding platfrom and also a DePIN sector... they did something that tarnish their image on the CT and the people or developers i refered to the platform.... Okay they organized a competition with a prize pool of $300k node tokens to be distributed... this competition lasts for 2 weeks and my developer friend Lawrence did it his very good so he ended up being 3rd place.... this guy really started shilling nodeops to his developer friends in Lagos he was happy he was winning his first hackathon of almost $2k... dyk what happened??? they didnt annouced the winners and worst off? they delete the tweet to the event... and started a new hackathon on dorahacks... so he reached to me asking whatvhappend when is he gettign his reward... and so since i was just an ambassdor i reverted to out heads and they were asking me to show proof of the tweet of him winning knowing fully well they deleted it... the whole event happened when crypto was tanking s i felt they were broke coz market cap went from $16 millon to $2 million and $1.6 but they would have been clean than do that... dyk the guy that won started spreading that on X? and tellign no one to sign up i personally also lost trust in them .... what surprise me is that the founder never addressed us... and also the kid that won went to the founders dm and tell him what happened to my greatest surprise he said they cancelled it and that he should go back and do the dorahacks own the guy had to block the founder... i feel a group of rookies runnign a project is a problem... coz they are just web2 devs who build something but never really knew how this space works rn their token is rugging no one talks about them all the 700+ ambassadors left... in web3 being cunning is like cutting the head of a hydra 2 more heads will come up.. so they didnt handled that well they lost me, the guy and other ambassadors.
in their case the founder didnt speak and no one spoke about the campaign so its as if its a carefully orchestrated moved to not pay winners... in scenarios like this i'd rather be genuine with the community than leave matters unattended in order for the person asking to forget its unethical..
tbh some fuck ups or collapsing that some projects do is beyond repairs you just leave with it coz the consequences are dire... or u can buy time by telling them u wll incentivise them but dont just cancel something that significant after 2 weeks cmon.... they loose alot of people becuase of that 1 mistake.. not to talk of how they forced stuffs on you... broooo you join every meeting 2am and it happens 3 times a week forcing us to refer 10 people to the 2am meeting hence we wont be paid how do u expect one be awake by 2am fir $50 monthly? smh 🤦 .... plus the relationship between MOD and founder in relative to us was harsh 🤦 ...... Anyways i learn alot to not intentionally negate answering a question just to think they'd forget... and also do your best to have inner circle people that believe eive in the project to the core.. and for someone like me we are seldom me not noticable coz we dont make noise in the groups our work speak for ourself.
