A person who has authority over me despite having no formal power is our CM, Ron, in FlagshipFYI. He is very young, around 21, but he has built strong authority through being active, reliable, and always helping the community. He answers people with humor, keeps conversations engaging, and often prevents unnecessary FUD by explaining things calmly. At the same time, when ambassador operations need to move faster, he becomes more authoritative and ensures everyone stays aligned. A time I got the friendly and authoritative balance wrong was when I hesitated to give clear directions to my team because most members are older than me, some being 27–30 years old while I am only 20. I learned that being respectful does not mean avoiding leadership. As a Captain in FlagshipFYI, I currently have some default authority because of my role, but I am working to turn it into real authority by helping my team, keeping my word, staying active, and leading by example. My teammates appreciate that despite being younger, I guide and support them with respect while fulfilling my responsibilities as a captain.
