In Onyx DAO there’s a guy called AstroDaze not even a mod at the time, just a regular member, but he knew the protocol inside out and answered everything. He was eventually given the mod role because of how devoted he was to helping members. When he went quiet for even a day, the other mod noticed. Members would literally say they’d wait for him specifically. Scammers started impersonating him. That’s how central he’d become.
The hardest part for me would be ego. I want that recognition to be the person people trust and wait for. I see it in Syndicate too, watching Berlin produce quality content and earn the community helper role. I won’t lie, it stings a little. But I’ve learned you can’t force that position, you grow into it.
Ringo I started doing exactly what this drop describes answering questions, helping members with what I’d learned from watching AstroDaze. Quietly. I ended up with roles only mods usually have, not because I chased it, but because I just kept showing up. In Onyx I still help members the same way, it’s just become part of how I move in any community I’m in.
